Softcatalà

Softcatalà is a non-profit community driven association founded in 1998 with the mission of promoting the use of Catalan in technology, computing, and the Internet. For over 25 years, we have translated and adapted open-source software into Catalan, built free language tools used by millions of speakers, and worked to ensure that Catalan has a place in every layer of the digital stack from operating systems and office suites to the newest generation of AI models.

On Hugging Face, we publish open models and datasets that support the Catalan language and its varieties. These resources also underpin the services behind our products used by millions of Catalan users dailay or projects we are actively developing.
